The back of the phone, which contains two cameras, has a fingerprint scanner, a rear fingerprint reader, and a microSD card slot. It's also a small, white plastic pocket, but you wouldn't dare put your smartphone's microSD card in there as you would for a fingerprint scanner—you'll have to use your phone's microSD card slot to get the fingerprint reader to recognize that it's in there. The front of the phone even includes a rear camera, which should make your fingerprint scanner even more convenient.

Another significant difference is the display's size. While the Mate is larger on the back, you can see the bottom of it from the front. The Mate X is 4.5-inches, which is slightly larger than the Galaxy Fold, and the 8-inch display on the front is 2.5-inches smaller on the back. The Mate X also packs a fingerprint sensor and microSD card slot, but they're slightly larger than the Huawei Mate S. The rear camera in this phone is 3 inches wide and the front camera is 3.9 inches wide—a little wider than that Huawei Mate S (which is 3.6 inches wide).

With that said, the Mate S is still a great looking phone, and it's a pretty big deal. It has a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 15 MP, 5 MP, 5.5-inch, 1080p display, and a 16 MP wide-angle lens. The fingerprint reader is the only part of the phone that's 3.8 inches tall.

The phone features a 2,600mAh battery and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 CPU. It has two full-sized USB-C ports, a microSD card slot, and dual-SIM slot. The Mate S also has a microSD Card slot, which is actually a little small, but is still a lot more convenient. You can carry the phone with you everywhere you go and use it without a charge, but you can't just carry it around in your pocket.

One thing that is a little surprising to me is that the Mate S is the second-biggest smartphone in the iPhone lineup, behind the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S5. The Mate S is also the biggest phone in the iPhone lineup, with a 1,200-mAh battery and a 5 MP front camera. Samsung has the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S5 in their top five phones.
