The FCC's order is yet another indication that the agency faces a serious problem with broadband in the United States.

The FCC's "fricture on net neutrality" does not prohibit the commission from considering consumer complaints against internet service providers. Instead, it requires them to prove that the company "engaged in a policy or practice that materially restricts the freedom of providers to provide services." This means that carriers can be required to report whether they "engaged in a policy or practice that materially restricts the freedom of providers to provide services."

The order, which was signed by Commissioners Susan B. Anthony, Jessica Rosenworcel, Mary Jo White and Karen Bass, was issued after a day of intense public debate and controversy following the fatal shooting of an Air Force officer while attempting to fly over a wildfire.

The two commissioners noted the two previous rules were similar, and that Pai's proposal would be "likely to change a lot of the rules."

In light of the recent controversy surrounding the telecom and telecommunications industry, and the increasing scrutiny on broadband in the United States, Pai's plan could have a dramatic impact on our local infrastructure.

The plan would establish a single-payer health care system, a universal health care system, and a national medical assistance program for all U.S. residents.
