There is more than one explanation for the missing ships,
There is more than one explanation for the missing ships, and there might be more. We don't know exactly what led to their death, but one theory is that the first men to board the ships were William Franklin and Dr. Michael Foy’s son, Thomas. It's not clear what role Thomas played in the expedition. William had a history of mental illness and depression, and would have been a great inspiration for Franklin’s men to travel north. Thomas has also been known to be an alcoholic, and would have had a history of depression. But Franklin’s family members, including his wife, Mary, are said to have been very protective of his career.
William was the first man on the mission. He was never seen again as he was buried in the frozen sea. Thomas had been taken to Alaska in 1848 by a young and inexperienced explorer and his father, William, whose name was the same as that of Thomas.
On April 24, 1848, Thomas Franklin and Thomas Foy left their ship, HMS Erebus, on a voyage of 25,000 miles. The journey was completed on April 25, 1848 with a view of Lake Victoria. They boarded the vessel on April 26, and sailed for the Arctic Ocean.
They sailed for a short time along a narrow ice shelf where ice is constantly melting and melting. The icy surface of the ice made for a great deal of turbulence and friction, and the men were afraid to get a good view of the ice. A few days after their departure, Thomas and Thomas´s father, Samuel Foy, became the first men to take the men west.
From that point, their ship moved west along a narrow ice shelf that was only about 100 feet long. In a few weeks, they would be able to climb the ice to land. But to the men, the ice was only about a half mile long.
There were also men who had been stranded on the ice for years. In April 1847 John Franklin and his friend, Dr. William Foy, were stranded and found dead in the same spot. Thomas had died in 1848, and there were many more. They had been taken from a boat to the Arctic Ocean, and there was some speculation that there might have been a similar incident in May.
But what was certain was that this was not the first time that Thomas was found. There was also the possibility that his body could be found in this time, but that was not confirmed by other sources
