Nvidia has been making more and more of its GPUs based on ASICs. As for AMD's, they've started scaling up. AMD's business in the GPU space is growing at a steady 5.2% a year and the company had a $8 billion market share in 2012.
So how much will Nvidia's GPUs go for? For the time being, we can only speculate. "We are not sure how much we will be able to break even," Kress said. "We are still working on that. We are still a long way from getting there."
