Gigabyte has been talking about its forthcoming Gear VR headset

Gigabyte has been talking about its forthcoming Gear VR headset for some time now—just last month it announced it would add a wireless charging station to its products. Given the large number of smartphones in the market today, I believe there could be a lot more interesting things to come from the company next year than the Vivosmart 4.

We'll find out more about the Gear VR at CES 2018, but for now, let's get to the real stuff, right here at Gizmodo:

In a series of tweets from CES, Gigabyte CEO and lead developer Nick Bostrom confirmed that the headset's camera will be coming to Gear VR in early 2018. This will likely mean Google and its partners will support the headset in a variety of ways: at events, in press releases, and on the G+ livestreams.

It's a great headset that's perfect for sports and fitness, but it's not the only way to feel more confident in fitness.

The first model of the Gear VR will come in a couple of weeks. That means it will be available for pre-order at GearBest, and it will be available in the U.S. beginning January 20. This is the same day as the EVO-branded device will ship, so expect to see some early consumer testing at the GearVR booth. I've personally been excited about the Gear VR for a while now, and I've seen many people come up with innovative ways to work. That said, the GearVR is not that special. It's not going to make you feel that much better about your body or your fitness, or that it's much more like the original EVO.

Gigabyte has also revealed that the battery life will be down on other smart phones, including the HTC One M8, LG G Watch and Samsung Gear smartwatches. So far, we don't really see the battery life down. It's very hard to tell if this is
