Kemp is running as a Republican against Democrat Rick Scott, the lieutenant governor of Florida.

The fact that Abrams was not involved in any such attack was just one of the many issues raised by the Georgia hack. The hack, it was reported, happened in March, and is just one of several hacks carried out by the Republican National Committee, which had been targeting its own voter registration system.

But as the story got more and more detailed, the fact that the DNC had been trying to take down the system seemed to have been the only thing that stopped it from continuing to operate. This was in direct contradiction to the fact that the DNC had been trying to take down the entire system for about two years.

As Politico reported, the DNC's internal audit of the system in late 2016 found that it failed to properly handle voter rolls as well as to protect the identities of its staff members. In fact, the system was able to track all of the people who voted in the presidential election, including a handful of election judges, as well as those who had run into problems.

It's also noteworthy that a source close to the DNC, who has spoken only on condition of anonymity, said that the DNC did not ask Abrams to remove the system from the system, but instead made the request "in the spirit of transparency and an open debate," the source added. Abrams is also running for governor in a close race against Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike Freeman.

If Kemp's allegations are true, it would be a significant step forward for the Democratic Party in general, as the GOP has been working to remove their candidate from the race for years.
