Musk's comments come after Tesla announced it would begin rolling out a new lineup of its supercharged luxury vehicles in 2017. The company's latest lineup features a full-priced, fully electric super luxury SUV with a five-speed manual transmission. The new Model Y will hit dealerships in 2017. Musk also revealed on Friday morning that Tesla is working with Tesla to begin production of the Model X and XS.

Tesla's production of the Model X and XS will begin in September, and will cost $1.5 billion, but will start taking off in the fall.
