The company has previously said that it would only allow customers to view pornography from their Wi-Fi network. However, the move has sparked a backlash from certain quarters.

"As well as banning porn, we are asking customers to check their Wi-Fi settings to ensure there is no illegal content," said a spokesperson for the retailer in a statement.

"We would also like to make sure users can make informed decisions on their personal information, including information on their social media accounts. We are also looking into the legality of this policy that could impact customers' right to privacy."

In January, Netflix confirmed that it had temporarily closed its US stores amid widespread online harassment, harassment and identity theft. Although Netflix has previously said that it would not be shutting its stores in the US, it has continued to block internet service providers in other countries, such as the UK.
