The second method involves a planet orbiting a super-jupiter. The moon, by contrast, is much smaller than a super-Jupiter and orbits its host star. In this case, the moon has a much larger mass and orbits a planet, and the moon's orbit is much tighter. This makes using the right approach more difficult.
In other words, if the moon is big enough to block a large amount of light, it might be that the exosolar host star is much more likely to block the extra light needed to see the moon. Now look at other planets in this same category:
But let's face it, if we see the moon in this way, we're going to have trouble getting our eyes to get the right picture. To get that look, we'll need to look at a planet that's very close to the moon. The moon is a very close target that could be a planet that orbits a super-jupiter, but is a much smaller, much smaller planet. That's why we need to be extremely careful about what we are looking at. And it is important to note that this is also one of the best approaches to identify a large exoplanet.
The Moon is a small planet, but a large exoplanet is one that orbits a very small star. And a planet that orbits a very small star needs about a 100,000 times the amount of light blocking the full spectrum of light, or a thousand times the amount of light blocking the wavelengths of light (more on this in a bit). So this approach is far more accurate than the approach that tries to spot a small exoplanet. So it's the best, if not the safest, approach to look at the moon.
If we go to the Moon, we can use our telescopes to pick out the best candidates for the moon. But for now, we can use the Hubble Space Telescope to look at the Moon's orbit around the Sun, and to search for evidence of exoplanets orbiting other super-Jupiters. And when we return to Earth, we'll see more exoplanets and planets orbiting other planets. It's hard to know how it might look like if we were to look at only one of our Sun-like planets.
