This change, along with Cortana's Cortana-specific settings page, are a big deal. The new build of Windows 10 uses a new, updated version of the Bing search algorithm that was introduced in Windows 8.1 and has already been tested on Windows 10 PCs. Microsoft notes that the new version will still display both Bing and search results, but will still ask questions about the items you're searching, including how to search, for example.
The new version of the Bing search algorithm also adds support for more than 300 third-party apps, including Adobe, Audacity, Adobe Premiere and Adobe Reader. Microsoft also mentions that it will add a new "Find My Music" section that will help you find new music to play or save, as well as a new "Search on Bing" section that will allow you to search for specific music songs and albums.
The Bing search app is a little more familiar to us than we've seen with the Cortana app. It's also the only one that uses the new search function. The feature only works with Windows 10 PCs and servers, so it's a bit trickier to use. However, if you have a Windows 10 PC, it looks like there's a lot of potential for Cortana to add functionality to your desktop.
Windows 10 PCs and servers will also be getting an update that takes advantage of the new Bing search feature to make them more intuitive to use. The update will also include a "New Search" button that will allow users to search with the Bing search app instead of Bing. A "New Search" button for Windows 10 PCs and servers will then be available as well. If you're looking to find music, you'll also be able to search for all music that you've recently listened to, including music that you recently bought or downloaded, and other songs with music in them.
Microsoft also notes that its Bing search engine will also be able to automatically find specific music categories, so you'll need to search for a specific song before you can use it.
If you've already tried Bing searches, you'll probably enjoy Bing's new "More" option on the Bing search result page. While it's not as great as Bing's "Find My Music" feature, it's still a great feature and it gives the Bing search experience a better sense of where it should be and where you're going.
