The Brexit vote has put Britain in a tough position. Despite being in the single market, the customs union, the single market with the exception of Italy, has not led to a clear end to the single market.
We are not an EU member state, and this has led to a significant change in the way we view the Union. We need to stand up to the EU and not let our politicians bully us.
With the UK having suffered two major defeats in the Brexit negotiations, the Conservative manifesto is now the most significant single-market threat in a generation. In order for Brexit to take place, we need to get rid of the single market and the customs union.
The UK is facing a choice between staying in Europe or the single market. We can leave the EU, or we can get rid of it.
We have two options when it comes to the Brexit negotiations. Britain can leave the single market and trade with the EU, or we can leave. If the two option is voted upon in the coming days, it will be the UK leaving the EU. But, as we have said before, the choice is between a two-way political and economic negotiation.
The choice of leaving the EU is clear but not by any means a certainty. The political process must begin and end on December 2015, but this is not the time to leave the EU.
The European Commission must now go through a process which will ensure the UK's position on the European Union.
After the referendum, the Commission will review the EU's approach to the single market. We will also look at what it means to remain in the EU, as well as to the relationship between the UK and European states, to prevent a repeat of the failed EU referendum.
The Commission will also make a decision on the possible new arrangements for the single market within the EU and in the UK. It will make these decisions as soon as possible.
The Commission will set out what its next steps will be. It will also set out how it will respond to EU demands for a complete transition to the single market.
We have already made our position clear in the European Parliament, and we will now follow this up with a detailed, detailed process to decide whether there is a case for remaining within the EU.
