While some may still question the merits of its design, the game's appeal is its ability to capture the essence of an old-school game that the gaming public was familiar with from its infancy. It's about a man and his boy, a pair of kids, and a group of dwarves trying to find the missing ring that'll bring them back to life. Its art and soundtrack are more than just about the kids. It's about the adventure, its characters, and what that adventure means to players.

The most common question about Fireball Island is whether it makes sense to play with fireballs, or whether the two are separate creations of the same person, or a way of "playing with fireballs". But this is the same question that we see in the form of the original Fireball. It's an attempt on the part of the creators of the game to make the game more accessible to the masses, one that's both fun (as much as it's scary) and exciting.
